I was reading another blog today and came across an entry that I had to write about, too!! Jasmine Star... wrote an entry about her 'first look' clients and had some of her 2009 grooms send a note about how they felt at the time. Genius! Ask the guy! :) The 'first look' is a special time, that couples are choosing, to see each other right before the ceremony. It's a photographers dream and nothing short of one of the most special moments in a wedding day for the bride and groom. Take a look at her post for what the grooms are saying... here.
Most of my clients choose to see each other before their ceremony. Photography is listed as one of the highest priorities and lighting is key for wedding photos. My favorite time to shoot is just before sunset. I love, love love... back lighting with the sun!! After the ceremony, time is so limited for photography. Family photos take the lead and then off to the reception we go. When looking back years and years later, the few moments of photography capturing a couples sweet emotions and tears before the ceremony will forever bring back happy memories of your relationship. I recommend to all my clients to have a first look ceremony. But, to those who are still a little unsure... take a look at Jasmine's post and I have also posted some pics below of a wedding I assisted with. So fun! I assisted this wedding with LeeAnn Widyn of Widyn Photography. LeeAnn is so fun and captured pure beauty that day. Here are a few shots from my angle...
Kelly and Mike chose to see each other and I just love Kelly's expression as she sees Mike for the first time. I had tears, too!

Mike spun Kelly around to see every last detail of her stunning dress!!

More to come from this past weekends wedding. I will most certainly post from their first look, too. :)
Enjoy, Jen

An adorable fam!

Enjoy! Jen
